Tricks to controlling cravings

Cravings can be brought on by many different factors. It could be stress or a swing in your mood, it could be fatigue, or a response to your blood sugar levels crashing. The trick is to keep your blood sugar levels as stable as possible throughout the day.

  • Don’t start the day off with a sugar or caffeine fuelled breakfast, as you will start to hit a low later on at your desk!
  • Don’t mistake hunger for thirst. When we are thirsty, it can often lead us to crave for more than water. Try drinking a glass of water first, and then ask yourself if you are still feeling ‘hungry’.
  • Keep filled up on low-fat high-protein snacks. They help keep cravings at bay by making you feel fuller and more satisfied.
