Healthy Nibbles Founder Shortlisted for Director of the Year

April 04, 2019

Sara Roberts of Edinburgh-based Healthy Nibbles, has been shortlisted for an Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland Award (Director of the Year – Start Up) that seeks to recognise the best of Scotland’s leadership talent. The winners will be announced on Thursday 23rd May at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. From here, Scotland’s winners in each category will go forward to take part in the UK Awards.

When asked how it feels to be shortlisted for the upcoming award, Sara commented: “I am delighted to have been shortlisted for the IoD Director of the Year – Start-Up award and look forward to attending the awards ceremony in May. Being nominated and shortlisted for such a prestigious award, is a great achievement. It recognises the work that both my team and I have invested in Healthy Nibbles as we continue to build our position as the UK’s leading authority within UK corporate health and workplace nutritional wellbeing.”

Sara launched Healthy Nibbles in 2014 after discovering how difficult it was to find healthy and nutritious snacks in city offices and travel hubs throughout the UK. Based in Scotland, but working throughout Europe, Sara is passionate about transforming food purchase and consumption decisions to which Healthy Nibbles echoes. Committed to enhancing health through nutritional wellbeing both within business and the wider community, Healthy Nibbles source high quality products from artisan producers, providing business to over 100 SME’s throughout the UK.

Outside of Healthy Nibbles, Sara is also committed to supporting others. In her spare time, she is a Director of Vision Ministries, a Scottish charity working in Africa to equip through education, support through work initiatives and bring relief to those in extreme poverty through food, accommodation and medical assistance. In addition to this, Sara is keen to give back and support others and provides mentorship to early stage local businesses whilst also being an Ambassador to Women’s Enterprise Scotland and a Global Nourishment Advisor to the International WELL Building Institute.

Looking ahead, Healthy Nibbles’ overall strategy for future growth is to build a business with strong foundations, robust principles and have a team of skilled people who have similar goals and ambitions. Sara confirms “We are building for the future. We are socially, environmentally and morally ethical, committed to supporting artisan suppliers, the local community and other sustainable entities. We make conscious choices to create and build an ambitious, yet ethical business.”
