iQ Student Accommodation. Improving Student Wellbeing.

August 29, 2019

iQ is proud to have been part of the higher education ecosystem for ten years - reimagining the student accommodation experience. Providing the best home-from-home environment from which over 28,000 students can confidently make the most of the opportunities during their university years. The organisation owns and operates 66 sites across 27 UK towns and cities, giving students from all parts of the world a truly exceptional experience.

Faced with the goal of providing the best nutrition options, iQ approached us as they were keen to improve their vending and snack offering for their students.

Our mission within schools and universities throughout the UK is to transform nutrition, thereby creating a healthier, happier and more positive environment. Students represent an important group for nutrition educators, since the transition into adulthood brings increased independence and decision making, which can affect diet and health- related behaviours.

Promoting nutritional health among young adults is so important. 90% of parents worry about the lack of nutrition in schools, with this concern rising as young people embark on an independent life.

Healthier choices are at the heart of what we do and given the choice 79% of people would choose a healthy snack if the option was there. With obesity, anxiety, stress and chronic diseases at an all time high, iQ Student Accommodation welcomed a positive influence and support in this area.

We were able to offer a fully managed vending service with a wide range of snacks that supported wellbeing and provided options for different dietary requirements whilst ensuring taste was a top priority.

Underpinning the vending service, we supported iQ with a student wellbeing programme, offering sampling opportunities, nutritional workshops and providing student access to wellbeing product and service discounts.
