SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT - PUNCH FOODS

Today we're delighted to promote one of our amazing suppliers called Punch Foods! They provide us healthy snacks that you can find in our boxes and vending machines. You want to learn more about their seeds and their history? Let's go through their answers!

 

// Who are Punch Foods?

Our philosophy - Eat real – Feel real - says it all. Punch Foods is about a celebration of good, simple and natural food, and how it makes you feel. 

 

// Tell us why your product range is unique?

Seeds really are pretty amazing. They are high in fibre, contain significant amounts of vitamin E and are super high in omegas. They are also a great source of protein, keeping you fuller for longer. And of course the benefits are even higher when you go organic – the seeds are plumper and have a better oil content. Being pesticide free, none of their benefits are compromised. And each of our Superseeds flavours contains the highest quality ingredients, each one with its own particular benefits. Cinnamon Spice, for example, is made with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and turmeric which is incredibly healing, and our Maca Caramel is made with Peruvian maca which balances hormones and increases energy levels. 

It is also really important to me that Superseeds aren’t loaded with sugar. Many ‘healthy’ bars that you see on the market can have up to 18g of sugar in them. Dates and maple syrup are better for you than processed sugar, but in the end our bodies process all sugar in exactly the same way. I really wanted to create a truly delicious snack that didn’t give you a sugar spike. Superseeds are sweetened with only a touch of organic, unrefined coconut sugar - a little goes a long way. Even our Coconut Brownie only has 2g per serving and it’s totally delicious! 

 

// Share the story of how your brand came into being?

I always knew I wanted to work in food ever since I was young - I made most of my pocket money through doing various catering jobs. But the idea of Punch Foods came to me during my art student years. I found it hugely frustrating that there was such a lack of snack choice for those who had intolerances, or who were looking for something genuinely healthy and delicious. I sold my paintings to fund starting my own company, and dove straight in.

 

// Tell us your favourite way to stay healthy?

I try and keep active all through the day – whether that’s going to meetings on foot, getting up and walking around the room before making tea, or even stretching out and doing a few sun salutations in the middle of the office. I also do yoga at least once a week and I love a good spinning class.
