At Healthy Nibbles, our eyes are open to the damage caused by uncaring business and for us, that is a powerful challenge to build our business better every day.
Healthy Nibbles is a female-led business, committed to the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
We categorise our sustainability efforts into three areas: our employees, our achievements and external accreditations.
The health and wellbeing of our employees Is at the forefront of Healthy Nibbles. We pride ourselves on the fact that we’re building a brand that cares deeply about our own people and the lives that they impact. We’ve created a work culture that allows our people to thrive, with an overall company rating of 4.57/5 and a CEO approval rating of 85.71%. From round the clock mental health support through OK Positive, Vitality Healthcare and Rewards, to an annual training budget and ‘One Small Thing’, we’re making sure we put our team first and foremost. Not heard of One Small Thing? Each month our team can take an hour away from the office to support someone who needs help. Not to mention, we’re also a Real Living Wage and Investors in Young People employer.
Healthy Nibbles want to offer products that are kind to both the planet and its people. That’s why we have a number of supplier non-negotiables:
- no trans fats
- no unnecessary sugars
- no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats
- no artificial preservatives, colours or additives
- no GMO, no high fructose corn syrup
- no MSG.
We also take time to ensure our ethical supply chain is diverse (60% of our supplier brands were built by minority founders) and we have worked to make our packaging and collateral fully sustainable – printed in the UK using water-based inks, recyclable at kerbside and totally plastic free.
We work with companies like Changeworks recycling to recycle paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and cans; and Tree App to plants hundreds of trees worldwide with every purchase.
The earth is at a critical point and that's why we're giving 1% of our profits to grassroots environmental charities through 1% For the Planet.
We're also part of the Scottish Business Pledge – a values-led partnership between Government and business that is based on boosting productivity, competitiveness through fairness, equality and sustainable employment.
