The Healthy Nibbles Promise

The Healthy Nibbles Promise

Healthy Nibbles want to offer products that are healthy for both people and the planet. We have a number of non-negotiables:

• no trans fats

• no unnecessary sugars

• no hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats

• no artificial additives, colours or preservatives

• no genetically modified foods

• no high fructose corn syrup

• no MSG

Palm Oil

Palm Oil

Palm oil production is having a widespread social and environmental impact in tropical regions. Currently we have a very small number of snacks containing palm oil. Whilst it’s all sustainably certified from segregated sources by the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil), we’ve made the decision to remove all products containing palm oil by 2021.

Ethical Supply Chain

Ethical Supply Chain

Healthy nibbles are passionate about the diversity and value of our supply chain. Did you know that 60% of our brands were built by minority founders?

Here are some of the amazing brands we works with:

Our Packaging

Our Packaging

In 2020, Healthy Nibbles transitioned to fully sustainable packaging and collateral.

Sustainably sourced, printed in the United Kingdom, recyclable at kerbside.

Our boxes, labelling and marketing collateral are plastic free and made with water-based inks.

ChangeWorks Recycling

ChangeWorks Recycling

We work with ChangeWorks recycling to recycle paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and cans. We began working with them in 2018, and since then, we’ve managed to recycle 295.80kg of paper, 6,398kg of cardboard and 13.5kg each of plastic bottles and cans. That means that since 2018, we’ve saved the same amount of carbon that a truck would release by driving 3,790.4km! ChangeWorks is a social enterprise, who Gift Aid a percentage of their profits to an environmental charity working to reduce carbon emissions and eliminate fuel poverty in Scotland.

Reducing carbon bite by bite

Net zero is our starting point

Net zero is our starting point

Working with third-party assessor Compare Your Footprint, we were able to analyse our greenhouse gas emissions and intensity ratios. Having a clear breakdown of our emissions by source has given us a focus for our intentions in 2021 and beyond.

To offset our carbon emissions we’re working with Treeapp, planting over 200 trees a quarter. Added to that, with every order on our website, customers have the option to plant a tree with Treeapp. The combined effect is that Healthy Nibbles reached Net Zero in 2020. However, we are aware that to achieve the benefit of tree planting takes time and is not an immediate offset of emissions. With this in mind we strive for continual improvement of emissions per full time employee (FTE).

Sustainable Development Goals

Sustainable Development Goals

Going forward we look to target the following goals in an effort to help transform the world:

• Goal 3 - Good Health and Wellbeing

• Goal 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth

• Goal 10 - Responsible Consumption and Production

• Goal 13 - Climate Action

• Goal 14 - Life below Water

• Goal 15 - Life on Land

SME Climate Hub

We’re part of Race to Zero, the largest credible alliance of organisations working towards an emissions-free economy.

This means that we’ve committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. We’re fighting against climate change and when you buy from us, you can be sure that we’re doing everything we can to minimise our impact on the planet and its people.

Offsetting carbon with TreeApp

Offsetting carbon with TreeApp

• Reforest a degraded patch of land of 1000 m2

• Offset 56 tons of carbon throughout the trees' lifespans

• Creating one day’s work for a local tree planter

• Providing habitat for around 5 species of mammals and thousands of insects, invertebrates and micro animals

• Contributing to better soil quality

• Increase in moisture and water retention in nearby springs and water basins

• Out of 200 trees planted, 60 trees are fruit and nut trees
